Job Description

*Professional Civil Engineer *

This Civil Engineering position will manage, work on, and be responsible for a variety of land development projects that include water, sewer, stormwater and street design. The projects will be a mix of design projects, construction administration, city engineering tasks, and private development.

Responsibilities will include preparation of deliverables, cost proposals, fee negotiations, and adhering to project schedules as well as assisting in the organization and supervision of the Engineering Team.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who has the willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment to carry a project through the design and permitting process independently or within a team framework as well as strengthen and develop relationships with clients.

Job Requirements/Minimum Qualifications/Job Duties:

· B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university degree program.

· North Carolina and/or South Carolina Licensed PE.

· Minimum of seven years experience with development of plans and specifications, permitting and construction administration for commercial and residential land development projects.

· Proficiency with AutoCad and Microsoft Office products.

· Experience with civil engineering design, to include site planning, storm-water management, and infrastructure design.

· Ability to work within a Team environment and be a Team Leader with junior staff.

· Checks all technical calculations and drawings for accuracy.

· Assigns Drafters work or may draft the design him or herself, answers their questions, checks their work for accuracy

· Responsible for taking project from kickoff to completion.

* Responsible for meeting internal and external deadlines/schedules.
* Manage client expectations/objectives/satisfaction/relations.
* Obtain necessary information from clients and consultants.

· Takes ownership of projects.

· Mentors other project designers.

* Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with multiple priorities and schedules throughout the project life cycle.
* Ability to seek out key projects that align with the company’s skill set and experience

Pay: $100,000 starting salary per year. Will consider ownership plan for the right individual.
