Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) to provide non-medical companionship and personal support to clients in their homes throughout Mississippi.
In this role, the RN functions as a caregiver and companion , not in a clinical or skilled nursing capacity. You will offer comfort, assistance with daily activities, and emotional support to help clients maintain their independence and quality of life.
Provide companionship and emotional support through conversation, social interaction, and engagement in hobbies or light recreational activities.
Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) as allowed under non-medical care, including but not limited to:
Light housekeeping and laundry
Meal preparation and encouragement of proper nutrition
Assistance with dressing, grooming, and hygiene
Accompaniment to appointments, errands, or social outings
Observe and report any changes in client condition or mood to agency supervisors promptly.
Encourage independence, dignity, and a sense of purpose for each client.
Ensure the home environment remains clean, organized, and safe .
Identify and report any potential safety hazards or concerns.
Follow the care plan established by the agency and comply with all Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) non-medical home care standards.
Maintain accurate daily care notes and time records.
Communicate effectively with family members, the care coordinator, and the agency office regarding any updates or needs.
Uphold confidentiality and respect clients' privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Current Mississippi RN license in good standing (active or retired nurses may qualify if permitted under agency policy).
Genuine desire to provide non-medical care and companionship to seniors, adults, kids or individuals with disabilities.
Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
Ability to pass a background check , drug screening , and CPR certification .
Prior experience in home care, hospice, long-term care, or community health is a plus.
Experience providing personal care or companionship services in a home setting.
Familiarity with Mississippi's non-medical home care regulations and caregiver documentation requirements.
In-home caregiving environment - one-on-one care.
Flexible shifts: part-time, full-time, or live-in options may be available.
No clinical duties, injections, or skilled care required.
